After spending the last 20 years working with leaders across the world I run my own company called Muru Leadership. At Muru we help leaders achieve the success and fulfilment they are seeking by unlocking their own true human potential and the potential of their teams.
2. What is the best leadership advice you can give in under 10 words?
Stop trying to ‘be a leader'. Instead, focus on ‘showing leadership’.
3. What is the most common leadership mistake you see being made?
Too often people focus on trying to emulate those leaders that society tells us are great, the Great Man as I call them.
When they do this they put themselves into the shadows of others which prevents them from understanding and unlocking their true human potential. Rather than focusing on trying to emulate others, I support leaders to focus on building their identity, purpose and practice for how they show leadership in their own lives.
4. What 3 things should people be doing to be better at leaders?
Stop trying to emulate others by fixating on those who we perceive to be inspiring.
Start building greater courage and conviction in your identity, purpose and practice for showing leadership by using ‘The 3 Questions’.
Act with mindful intention by being clear about what is important to you and ensuring you are directing your energy on that.
